E.A.P.
PDAP MIDLAND’S EMPLOYEE ASSISTANCE PROGRAM
Keeping Employees
Employable
What
it is: E.A.P.
is a short-term program developed by the licensed and
trained professionals at PDAP to help employees who have
tested positive for mind-changing chemicals to assist in
returning to work. While the focus of E.A.P.
is the employee, there are benefits to the employer
as well.
How
it can help the employer:
E.A.P.
gives you documentation that a current or prospective
employee has completed a program of self-awareness,
counseling and education, and may be eligible for rehire.
These are the services included in the E.A.P.
program:
- Screen and assess potential or
present employees for chemical dependence issues using
the standard tools accepted in the field today.
- Provide a method that will promote
healthy lifestyle changes enabling the employee to
safely return to work though 12-step groups, individual
counseling and education programs.
- Both the employer and the employee
will receive written reports outlining the PDAP EAP
goals for that individual.
- Provide a pre and post test method
of tracking showing gains in information understood by
the individual.
- Provide an educational track for
both the individual and concerned family members,
friends or co-workers. Topics covered include: the
disease concept of chemical dependency, relapse and
relapse prevention planning, social skills, and decision
making tools.
- Supervision of random drug testing
at the individual’s expense. Results will be reviewed
by the counselor and the employer.
- Both the employer and the employee
will receive written reports explaining the results of
the individuals plan. This report will be generated no
sooner than 30 days and no longer than 90 days after
beginning the program, based on the counselor’s
discretion.
The employee
assistance iprogram in no
way a “guarantee” that an employee has stopped using
mind-changing chemicals. Rather, it serves as an
introduction to PDAP and the twelve-step recovery program.
PDAP is absolutely free, both to the
employee and the employer.
