The Midland Coalition is currently working on Youth Education Toolkits and needs your help.
These Youth Education Kits include video instruction and a facilitators guide on topics such as internet safety, dating violence, addiction, bullying, underage drinking, illegal drugs, decision making, communication, character education, abstinence, advocacy and media literacy.
As the Youth Education Kits are facilitated by parents, teachers and other concerned adults in venues such as public school, home school, private school, churches, and private homes thousands of youth and adults will learn how to avoid risky behavior by building critical life skills and educating people about critical issues that youth face each day.
Each Youth Education Kit will include a facilitator’s guide, DVD instruction, and reproducible handouts that can be used by anyone.
Once completed, 500 Youth Education Kits will be replicated and distributed free of charge to schools, churches, libraries, service organizations and parents in Midland, Texas.
This information will be disseminated through a media campaign announcing the completion of the project, acknowledging the participants and funders as well as information on where to obtain the kits.
Topics may include (but are not limited to) internet safety, dating violence, addiction, bullying, underage drinking, illegal drugs, decision making, communication, character education, abstinence, advocacy and media literacy.
The facilitation format is simple; anyone will be able to use them.
